Once upon a time in a small Indiana town... a baby was born...No, wait a minute... make that two babies. As identical twins grew, they developed rather interesting habits. The one known as Jean wore spaghetti in her hair and used the glowin' behinds of fireflies to create elaborate face paint. Jane, on the other hand, spent hours counting Raisinsettes, biting them in half, then trading the smaller versions to her younger cousins for full-size M&M’s. “Miraculous!” said the townsfolk. “Jean has a right brain. Janehas a left...together these two might just do something crazy!".
And they did! In 1976, the Ford twins created a unique San Francisco beauty boutique with a whimsical candy store atmosphere. "Who said makeup had to be seriuos to be good?" they said. The shop grew famous for delivering quick fixes for every gal's peskiest beauty dilemmas, and with a "double" dose of wackiness mixed with know-how, the twins sucessfully built Benefit Cosmetics into a global beauty brand. The "friskiest luxury brand" now has over 2,000 counters in more than 30 countries.
Maggie & Annie, daughters of Jean and nieces of Jane, have grown up with Benefit. They watches as their mum & aunt mixed colours on the kitchen table to create products such as benetint, dr feelgood and eye bright. It's no wonder these gals caught the beauty bug early with Benetint running through their veins.
Fast forward to their college days... Maggie & Annie quickly became the go-to gals for insider beauty tips amd party perfect makeovers with their enthusiasm for makeup and knack with a blush brush.
In 2008, natural born Benefit gals, Maggie & Annie, officially joined the Benefit family, bringing with them their experience & skill in makeup artistry. As Makeup Trend Artists, Maggie & Annie work hands on with customers & clients around the globe, sharing their inside vibe on beauty.

Benefit first came to UK in 1997 with the first counter opening at Harrods in London. Selfridges and other counters soon followed. By the start of 2008 there was over 250 counters and 10 Boutiques in the UK and Ireland. Along with our own retail website, regular shows on QVC and the most amazing reviews in all the most important magazines and TV shows demonstrates that Benefit is only heading 1 way.
Within Europe we are “cooking on full gas”. Benefit is well established and growing in France and Germany and we can now be found in Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Italy, Poland and Russia.
